Court Mount

Court mounted medals are attached to a cardboard or plastic backing offering greater stability.  The backing piece is wrapped with ribbon, each medal is strung on its appropriate ribbon and then attached to the backing.  This creates a single unit, peventing the medals from moving about and "clinking", and often, helping to reduce damage to the medals themselves. 

Swing Mount

Swing mounted medals do just that: they swing.  The medals are strung on their respective ribbon which is attached to a long pin bar near the top of the ribbon. The medals themselves are in no way attached to one another nor backed with a stabilizing material, therefore; when attached to a jacket, the medals swing freely and create a "clinking" sound as the wearer moves about. 

Bow Mount

Bow mounting is a method of wearing full size and miniature medals for women in civilian dress. A bow is fashioned out of the approriate ribbon and the medal hung from a smaller piece of ribbon below the centre of the bow. This option is only available to females who possess a single decoration or medal. Additionally, a female may chose to wear an order in this fashion rather than around the neck.

We stock Velcro and magnets but rarely use these methods of attachment for full size medals as they do not always provide the necessary stability. If you would prefer a method of attachment other than pins, please give us a call.  We're happy to work with you to find a solution.
